NO. 371
1200-WHITE
WATER-BASE, RESIN-BASE CONCRETE CURING COMPOUND
Provides concrete surfaces with excellent
curing and protection from the heat-producing rays of the sun.
SEALTIGHT 1200-WHITE Water-Base, Resin-Base Concrete Curing Compound is a
ready-to-use, true water-base compound that when properly applied, provides an
impermeable film which optimizes water retention.
Technical Description
SEALTIGHT 1200-WHITE, Water-Base, White-Pigmented Concrete Curing
Compound is a resin-base dispersion with selected white pigments formulated
that, when properly applied, provides an impermeable film which optimizes water
retention. The white pigment reflects heat-producing sun rays to help keep the
concrete surface cooler and prevent excessive heat build-up which can cause
thermal cracking. SEALTIGHT 1200-WHITE is a true water-base product that meets
maximum VOC content of 350 g/L for Concrete Curing Compounds as required by the
U.S. EPA Architectural Coatings Rule.
Uses
SEALTIGHT 1200-WHITE is ideal for application on exterior, horizontal
surfaces such as street and curb paving – for excellent curing when protection
from the sun's heat is desired.
Advantages and Benefits
| When properly applied, provides an impermeable film
which optimizes water retention
| Protects by reflecting the sun's rays to keep the
concrete surface cooler and prevent excessive heat buildup which can cause
thermal cracking
| Furnished as a ready-to-use, true water-base compound
| Produces hard, dense concrete...minimizes
hair-checking, thermal cracking, dusting and other defects
| Enhances the functional capabilities of concrete by
"sealing in" the performance assets of strength and long life
| Offers a compressive strength significantly greater
than improperly cured concrete
| Increases tensile strength for greater resistance to
cracking and surface crazing
| Improves abrasion resistance and minimizes corrosive
action of salts and chemicals... minimizes shrinkage
| Applies quickly and easily with conventional,
commercial spray equipment
| VOC-compliant – meets the U.S. EPA Architectural
Coatings Rule requirements

Application
PREPARATION: Application equipment must be clean and free of any
previously used materials.
MIXING: Any settling in the drums can be easily redispersed with gentle
agitation prior to use. Do not mix excessively to avoid foaming. NOTE: DO NOT
MIX "WATER-BASE" COMPOUNDS WITH ANY COMPOUND CONTAINING SOLVENT.
METHOD OF APPLICATION: Spray on in one even coat with a hand or power sprayer as
soon as the surface water disappears from horizontal concrete surfaces. Use a
Chapin 8005, or equivalent, spray tip that produces a flow of 1/2 gallon (1.89
liters) per minute under 40 psi (.276 MPa) of pressure.
COVERAGE: Approximately 200 ft.²/gal. (4.9m²/L).
CLEANUP: Clean application equipment with soap and water while the material is
still wet.
Packaging
5 gallon (18.93 liter) Pails
55 gallon (208.20 liter) Drums
Physical Properties
DRYING TIME: Depends on weather conditions and coverage, but will
generally dry in 3 to 4 hours. Restrict foot traffic until completely dry.
FLASH POINT: Greater than 212ºF (100ºC).
Specifications
ASTM C 309, Type 2, Class B
AASHTO M 148, Type 2, Class B
F.A.A. Item P-610-2.11
Formulated specifically for Federal, State, County and Municipal highway and
airport paving projects
Precautions
Do not use on patios, sidewalks or other
areas where there is no wheel traffic to abrade white film surface. Do not use
on surfaces that are later to be painted, tiled, hardened, sealed or treated in
any manner. Do not apply when the temperature of the concrete is less than 40ºF
(4ºC). DO NOT MIX WITH COMPOUNDS CONTAINING SOLVENT. DO NOT ADD OR DILUTE WITH
ANY OTHER COMPOUND. KEEP FROM FREEZING. Refer to Material Safety Data for
complete health and safety information.
