Sealtight Seal Cure CS-309-25

NO. 375

SEALTIGHT SEAL CURE CS-309-25
STYRENE-ACRYLIC CURING AND SEALING COMPOUND

Description
SEALTIGHT SEAL CURE-309-25 is a clear, ready-to-use formula of styrene-acrylic polymers and quick evaporating solvents, which cures, seals, hardens and dustproofs freshly placed concrete surfaces, newly cured bare concrete and improves the wearability of aged concrete surfaces. SEAL CURE-309-25 meets maximum VOC content limit of 700 g/L for Concrete Curing and Sealing Compounds as required by the U.S. EPA Architectural Coatings Rule.

When properly applied, SEAL CURE-309-25 provides an impermeable seal for efficient moisture retention, producing harder denser concrete. It also provides a durable, long-lasting moisture impermeable finish that improves resistance to chemicals, oil, grease, de-icing salts and abrasion. The use of SEAL CURE-309-25 will help minimize hair checking as well as premature cracking, dusting, spalling and other common defects that result when the concrete is not properly cured, or the workmanship, air entrainment and water/cement ratios vary. SEAL CURE-309-25 is easy and economical to use and apply. It dries quickly to protect new exterior concrete surfaces during construction. When used on existing concrete surfaces, SEAL CURE-309-25 restores the concrete like new. A properly prepared and cleaned concrete surface (in accordance with good concrete maintenance practices) will appear newer & brighter and is easier to clean and maintain.

Uses
SEALTIGHT SEAL CURE-309-25 may be used on freshly placed and finished exterior concrete surfaces, aged concrete surfaces, exposed aggregate, brick floors, terrazzo, concrete walls and horizontal surfaces. It is ideal for use on industrial & commercial concrete surfaces, sidewalks, parking decks, driveways, etc., or any place a medium-sheen finish is desired. If a higher-sheen finish is desired, a second coat may be applied. SEAL CURE-309-25 may discolor. We recommend that when a completely non-yellowing cure & seal is required, use SEALTIGHT CS-309-25 Non-Yellowing Curing & Sealing Compound. SEAL CURE-309-25 can be applied to colored concrete, but mottling may occur.

Application
SURFACE PREPARATION...Old Concrete: Concrete surfaces must be clean and dry, with all stains, oil, grease, dust and dirt removed prior to application. New Concrete: SEAL CURE-309-25 should be applied when the surface water has completely disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workmen.

APPLICATION METHOD...Use a sprayer or short nap roller to apply a uniform, even film. Avoid puddling in low areas. Standard garden-type sprayers, equipped with a neoprene hose and gaskets are recommended for best results.

SEAL CURE-309-25 should not be applied during high temperature conditions in direct sunlight. These conditions cause rapid evaporation, which does not allow the film to form properly. Under these conditions, the film may peel, bubble and/or turn white (blush).

SEAL CURE-309-25 should not be applied to concrete exposed to excessive moisture. Entrapped moisture in a solvent based sealer may cause the film to peel and/or turn white (blush).

NOTE...For added protection and a greater sheen on new or old concrete, we recommend (2) coats of SEAL CURE-309-25 be applied at right angles. Additional coats of SEAL CURE-309-25 may be applied after the first coat has thoroughly dried; naturally, this may vary depending on temperature, humidity and project conditions.

DRYING TIME...SEAL CURE-309-25 dries quickly. Drying times may be extended; again, depending on temperature, humidity and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least 4 hours…twelve (12) hours is preferable

NOTE...SEAL CURE-309-25 dries quickly. Drying times may be extended; again, depending on temperature, humidity and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least 4 hours…twelve (12) hours is preferable.

Clean-Up
Application equipment should be cleaned promptly after use with Xylene or Toluene.

Precautions
DO NOT DILUTE. SEAL CURE-309-25 IS FOR EXTERIOR APPLICATION ONLY. Do not apply SEAL CURE-309-25 if the temperature of the concrete is below 40°F (4°C). Do not paint or apply resilient flooring over SEAL CURE 309-25 without first checking the specifications and securing the approval of the paint or resilient flooring manufacturer. SEAL CURE-309-25 may be used on colored concrete, but mottling may occur. Do not use on non-porous surfaces or surfaces which are not uniform in porosity, i.e. brick, stone, masonry, etc. Concrete containing calcium chloride will remain dark longer when treated with SEAL CURE-309-25. The specifier and user shall determine the suitability of product for specific applications and assume all responsibility in connection therewith.
