LIQUI-HARD®

CONCRETE DENSIFIER AND CHEMICAL HARDENER
SEALTIGHT LIQUI-HARD increases density, dustproofs and hardens the concrete to enhance resistance to moisture and other foreign matter.

Technical Description
SEALTIGHT LIQUI-HARD Concrete Densifier and Chemical Hardener Compound is a ready-to-use, colorless liquid concentration of 100% active chemicals that deeply penetrate the surface of concrete. SEALTIGHT LIQUI-HARD is specifically designed to produce hardened, dustproofed and improved chemically-resistant surfaces wherever it is applied.

Through a chemical ion exchange process, LIQUI-HARD penetrates progressively through the concrete and chemically solidifies all the component parts into a homogenous concrete mass. Besides its densifying and hardening action, LIQUI-HARD solidifies the concrete eliminating dusting, rotting and pitting.

LIQUI-HARD meets maximum VOC content of 400 g/L for Concrete Protective Coatings as required by the U.S. EPA Architectural Coatings Rule.

Uses
LIQUI-HARD is recommended for use wherever hardening, dustproofing and improved chemically resistant surfaces are required. Ideal applications include floors in industrial plants and warehouses, storage silos, sewage plants, chemical processing facilities, refineries and heavy pedestrian floor traffic areas such as civic centers, sports arenas, stadiums, hospitals, airports and museums. It also provides an excellent protective treatment for preventing oxidation of iron aggregate floors.

Surface Preparation
NEW CONCRETE: On newly poured concrete, wait for a minimum of 72 hours prior to the application of LIQUI-HARD. Clean surfaces of all curing compounds, residue, oil, sealers, waxes, contaminants and laitance before applying.

OLD CONCRETE: Surfaces should be clean and structurally sound. Remove all residue, oil, sealers, waxes, contaminants and laitance. SEALTIGHT ULTRITE Degreaser may be used (refer to Product Data Sheet number 379-PD). Fill all holes, cracks and deteriorated areas that have been removed to sound concrete.

Application (for NEW and OLD concrete surfaces)
NOTE: SEALTIGHT LIQUI-HARD is ready to use "as-is" from the container.

Saturate surface with undiluted LIQUI-HARD by sprayer, squeegee or brooming. While keeping surfaces wet with LIQUI-HARD, scrub surface with a bristle broom or mechanical scrubber until material gels (approx. 45 minutes). Wet material lightly with water. Continue to work it into the surface for another 5 to 10 minutes. Flush surface with water, removing any excess material with mop or sqeegee. On porous surfaces, repeat with a second application as above.

WARNING: Failure to thoroughly wash and remove all excess material from floor surfaces may result in unsightly white stains. Immediately wash off over-spray from glass, aluminum, or highly polished surfaces with water to avoid etching of surfaces.

DRYING TIME: 2 to 4 hours. LIQUI-HARD dries very quickly on new, virgin concrete, drying times may be extended on old concrete due to surface conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least 4 hours, 12 hours is preferable.

Coverage
Application Rate ft.²/gal.
Broomed: 200-300
Troweled:  300-500
Fresh:  200-300
Old:  150-250

CLEAN-UP: While still wet, equipment may be cleaned quickly and easily with soap and water. Do not allow LIQUI-HARD to dry before flushing excess from surfaces.

Precautions
Use material "as is" in the container. DO NOT DILUTE. Do not apply if the temperature of the concrete is less than 35ºF (2ºC) or above 135ºF (57ºC). KEEP FROM FREEZING.

HEALTH HAZARDS: LIQUI-HARD is non-combustible (flash point > 210ºF). Direct contact will result in irritation of the skin and eyes. Inhalation of product mist may result in respiratory irritation.
Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
