CS-309/30™-CLEAR
CONCRETE CURING AND SEALING COMPOUND
Provides high water retention...excellent
curing qualities in quick, easy and economical to apply formulations.
SEALTIGHT CS-309/30-CLEAR Concrete Curing Compound is a high-solids content
material developed for single application curing and sealing.
Technical Description
SEALTIGHT CS-309/30-CLEAR Concrete Curing Compound offers a 30%
solids content. CS-309/30-CLEAR is a non-yellowing compound composed of a
special blend of acrylic resins modified to provide excellent water retention.
CS-309/30-CLEAR can be quickly, easily and economically applied wherever
excellent curing is desired. Once properly applied, CS-309/30-CLEAR provides an
impermeable seal yielding superior curing efficiency.
Concrete, properly cured with CS-309/30-CLEAR, offers a hard, dense surface
minimizing hair-checking, thermal cracking, dusting and other defects. Properly
cured concrete surfaces offer greater resistance to abrasion and corrosive
action of salts and chemicals... excessive shrinkage is minimized. Both
compressive and tensile strengths are increased for greater resistance to
cracking and surface crazing.
CS-309/30-CLEAR meets maximum VOC content limit of 700 g/L
for Concrete Curing and Sealing Compounds as required by the U.S. EPA
Architectural Coatings Rule.
Uses
SEALTIGHT CS-309/30-CLEAR Concrete Curing Compound may be used
wherever it is desirable to apply a high-solids content material to effectively
cure horizontal and vertical concrete surfaces. Ideal for exterior application.

Application
SURFACE PREPARATION...OLD CONCRETE:
Concrete surfaces must be clean and dry, with all stains, oil, grease, dust and
dirt removed prior to application. NEW CONCRETE: CS-309/30 should be applied
when surface water has completely disappeared and the concrete surface will not
be marred by walking workmen.
APPLICATION METHOD...Use a power sprayer or short-nap roller to apply a uniform,
even film. Avoid puddling in low areas.
SEALTIGHT CS-309/30 should not be applied during high
temperature conditions in direct sunlight. These conditions cause rapid
evaporation, which does not allow the film to form properly. Under these
conditions, the film may peel, bubble and/or turn white (blush).
SEALTIGHT CS-309/30 should not be applied to concrete
exposed to excessive moisture. Entrapped moisture in a solvent based sealer may
cause the film to peel and/or turn white (blush).
NOTE: For added protection and a greater sheen on new or
old concrete, we recommend (2) coats of CS-309/30 be applied at right angles.
Additional coats of CS-309/30 may be applied after the first coat has thoroughly
dried; naturally, this may vary depending on temperature, humidity and project
conditions.
DRYING TIME...CS-309/30 dries quickly on new
concrete...drying times may be extended on previously cured, new concrete and on
old concrete. Restrict foot traffic for at least four (4) hours...12 hours is
preferable.
NOTE...Use of fillers, extenders or additives in the
concrete mix can result in a higher than normal porosity. To provide proper
surface treatment, adjust coverage ratios to compensate for the resulting
penetration.
CLEAN UP...Application equipment should be cleaned
promptly after use with Xylene or Toluene.

Precautions
DO NOT DILUTE. CS-309/30 IS FOR EXTERIOR
APPLICATION ONLY.
HEALTH HAZARDS: Direct contact may cause skin and/or eye irritation. Inhalation
of vapors may cause transient central nervous system depression. This product
should not be utilized in locations where food items are present.
CS-309/30 is combustible (flash point 105ºF). Remove ignition sources prior to
utilizing product. Do not apply CS-309/30 if the temperature of the concrete is
below 40ºF (4ºC) and only after all surface water has disappeared.
CS-309/30 can be used on colored concete, but mottling may occur. Do not use on
brick, stone, masonry, slate, etc., which are not uniform in porosity or have a
non-porous surface. Concrete containing calcium chloride will remain dark longer
when treated with CS-309/30. The specifier and user shall determine suitability
of product for specific applications and assume all responsibility in connection
therewith.
