SEALTIGHT®
POLY-JET® 200-E
TWO-COMPONENT, MACHINE MIXED JOINT SEALANT
Technical Description
SEALTIGHT POLY-JET 200-E is a
machine-applied, 100% solids, 1:1 ratio, self-leveling, medium-grade sealant
that is both jet fuel and jet blast resistant. It forms an effective, flexible
seal against the infiltration of water and ingress of incompressibles. It will
not flow or track and has a working temperature range of -20°F (-29°C) to
200°F (93°C).
POLY-JET 200-E contains no coal tar. Its liquid polysulfide polymers resist the
effects of sunlight, rain, snow, ozone, aging, shrinkage, and the daily and
seasonal cyclic changes in temperature, even after years of exposure.
Uses
SEALTIGHT POLY-JET 200-E is a two-component, cold-applied
polysulfide-based sealant used for sealing joints and cracks in concrete
roadways and airport runway applications subject to spillage of jet fuels,
lubricating oils or direct heat and blast of aircraft engines.
Features
| Self-leveling consistency which guns easily with
conventional meter-mixed caulking equipment...no tooling required.
| Requires no maintenance when installed properly.
| Jet fuel and jet blast resistant. |

Packaging
Standard, 5 gallons each of Part A and B, packaged in separate metal pails. The
pail components are packaged with contrasting lids for easy visual
identification. Component B is packaged with a white lid.
Application
SEALTIGHT POLY-JET 200-E should not be used in joints less than
1/4" (6.4mm) wide. Joint width should be a minimum of 4 times the
anticipated movement between temperature extremes. The sealant depth should be a
minimum of 1/2” (12.7mm), while the maximum width recommended is 1".
Proper joint design practices and application techniques must be adhered to for
successful performance.
JOINT PREPARATION: Joint interface must be clean, dry, and free from oils, loose
mortar, laitance, waterproofing materials, and other contaminants. A thorough
grinding, sandblasting or solvent cleaning may be required with common building
materials. However, an instance may occur where priming is necessary for certain
substrates. Use PRIMER-P/G for the best adhesion results. To control sealant
depth, insert SEALTIGHT CERA-ROD in the joint before sealing. For larger joints,
where additional support is required, use a non-asphaltic joint filler such as
SEALTIGHT CERAMAR. Fill cracks and joints flush with the pavement surface.
APPLICATION TEMPERATURE: Before mixing, condition unopened A and B containers to
80°-100°F (27°-38°C) with no more than ± 5°F difference in component
temperatures.
APPLICATION: Thorough blending of the components is essential for maximum
performance of POLY-JET 200-E sealant. Proportion, mix and place POLY-JET 200-E
using application equipment designed to deliver the 2 components at a preset,
controlled ratio of 1:1 volume with an accuracy of + 5%. The unit should have
accurate thermometers to monitor each component’s temperature. For best
results the proportioning pump should be fed with supply pumps. A sufficient
stream of mixed material should be run through the equipment to insure proper
combination has taken place. Proportioning of the component pumps should be
checked immediately before sealing and at least every two hours during sealing.
It is imperative that the mixing head be completely cleaned before sealing
operation is started. When sealing is interrupted more than five minutes, purge
the mixing head with one of the components to prevent sealant from curing in the
mixing head. NOTE: When furnished in drums, agitate the material with low-speed
agitators.
Coverage
1/2" x 1/2" (12.7mm x 12.7mm) joint; 77 lineal feet per gallon
(6.2m/liter).
Shelf Life and Storage
Six months stored unopened, out of direct sun at temperatures lower than
80°F (26°C).
Cleaning
Use Xylene, Toluene or MEK to remove smears and excess sealant before it
cures, or to clean equipment. Taping joints can ensure neatness and keep
cleaning requirements to a minimum.
Limitations
POLY-JET 200-E components are pre-measured to exact quantities. Each
component (A and B) must be poured into appropriate vats for machine mixing.
Component A goes into the black vat and component B into the gray vat. Do not
mix partial units. Do not use POLY-JET 200-E at temperatures below 40°F (4°C)
or in a joint that is wet or contains free water. Do not apply to galvanized
surfaces. POLY-JET 200-E may be used on steel and other non-galvanized metals
only when the surfaces are first cleaned to bright metal, and primed with
PRIMER-P/G. POLY-JET 200-E is not recommended for joints in ice rinks, parking
decks, swimming pools or other joints subjected to hydrostatic pressure.
POLY-JET 200-E is not compatible with asphaltic joint fillers or asphaltic
concrete pavements.
Precautions
Avoid contact with skin or prolonged breathing of vapors.
Read and follow all instructions and precautions as stated in the Material
Safety Data Sheet which is available to you.
