Surface Preparation
Bell and spigot of tile should be clean and free of dust, dirt and moisture. If dust, dirt and moisture cannot be completely removed, prime the outside of the spigot and inside of the bell with Asphalt Primer.

Application
SEALTIGHT Cold-Plastic SEWER JOINT COMPOUND is produced in a trowel-grade consistency and is ready-to-use directly from the container. Requires no on-site heating, mixing, or melting.

To properly seal concrete or vitrified tile sewer joints, SEALTIGHT Cold Plastic SEWER JOINT COMPOUND should be evenly troweled around the narrowing circumferences of the bell sewer tile. The spigot tile should be inserted into the bell as far as it will go until it is snugly in contact with the narrow portion of the bell. A third of the open area beginning at the joint and coming forward toward the large opening of the bell tile should be packed tightly with oakum. The remaining open area between the oakum and the joint opening should be filled flush with SEWER JOINT COMPOUND.
