TIAH® (formerly
TIAH-1315)
NON-YELLOWING ACRYLIC CONCRETE SEALER
Enhances the beauty of most cementitious
materials by providing improved resistance to weather, stains and abrasion,
combined with dustproof protection.
SEALTIGHT TIAH Acrylic Concrete Sealer is a transparent, non-yellowing acrylic
co-polymer solution designed to seal and enhance the beauty of most cementitious
materials.
Technical Description
SEALTIGHT TIAH Acrylic Concrete Sealer is an acrylic co-polymer
solution that dries to a transparent film which improves abrasion resistance of
the concrete. TIAH will not after-yellow or change the natural color of
concrete. It is specially formulated to enhance the beauty of most cementitious
materials. TIAH provides improved weather and stain resistance combined with a
dustproof sealer.
TIAH meets maximum VOC content limit of 700 g/L for
Concrete Curing and Sealing Compounds as required by the U.S. EPA Architectural
Coatings Rule.
Uses
SEALTIGHT TIAH Acrylic Concrete Sealer is used on driveways,
patios, industrial floors, loading docks, swimming pool areas and exposed
aggregate as well as any exterior surface where protection and sealing of
concrete is desired (dries to a low medium sheen).
TIAH brings out the beauty of concrete, offering improved resistance to rain,
sun, freezing temperatures, stains, most acids and industrial chemicals, oil,
grease, de-icing salts, cleaning agents (except aromatic solvents) and caustics,
as well as airborne soot, dust and other pollutants.
Features and Benefits
| Applies easily...dries to the touch in 30 minutes and
to traffic in one hour
| Provides a clear, tough, easy-to-clean film which
improves abrasion and stain resistance
| Offers improved resistance to rain and sun, freezing
temperatures, most acids and industrial chemicals, oil, grease, deicing
salts, cleaning agents (except aromatic solvents), caustics, airborne soot,
dust and other pollutants
| Seals and enhances the beauty of many cementitous
surfaces for years
| Offers excellent foot or vehicular traffic wearing
qualities
| Recoat after thorough surface cleaning to restore the
original beauty
| Use in conjunction with SEALTIGHT CS-309 Curing
Compound to produce an outstanding, complete concrete cure/seal system
| Concrete sealed with TIAH can later be painted (consult
reputable paint manufacturer for compatibility) or covered with resilient
flooring or carpeting, if desired
| Dried film is USDA Accepted
| VOC compliant...meets the U.S. EPA Architectural
Coatings Rule requirements |

Application
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Concrete must be clean and dry prior to application. Oil stains, grease, etc.
must be removed. CAUTION: If a liquid membrane curing compound (other than
CS-309) has been used, DO NOT APPLY TIAH until all traces of the compound have
completely dissipated and the surface is clean and dry. We recommend SEALTIGHT
ULTRITE DEGREASER for cleaning.
APPLICATION METHOD...NEW CONCRETE...For ultimate protection, use the SEALTIGHT
complete cure and seal system. First, apply a uniform film of SEALTIGHT CS-309
Acrylic Curing and Sealing Compound as soon as possible after the surface water
has disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workmen.
(After the first coat of CS-309 has thoroughly dried, then apply TIAH using a
manual sprayer or short-nap roller.) OLD CONCRETE...Surface must be clean and
dry before applying TIAH. Old stains not removed from the surface will be
visible after the film dries. Do not apply TIAH if the temperature of the
concrete is below 40ºF (4ºC).
SEALTIGHT TIAH should not be applied during high
temperature conditions in direct sunlight. These conditions cause rapid
evaporation, which does not allow the film to form properly. Under these
conditions, the film may peel, bubble and/or turn white (blush).
SEALTIGHT TIAH should not be applied to concrete exposed
to excessive moisture. Entrapped moisture may cause the film to peel, and/or
turn white (blush).
DRYING TIME...TIAH dries quickly on new concrete...drying times may be extended
on previously cured new concrete, and on old concrete. Restrict foot traffic for
at least four hours...12 hours is preferable.
NOTE...For added protection and a greater sheen on the
concrete, multiple coats of TIAH may be applied after the first coat of CS-309
has thoroughly dried. Naturally, this may vary depending on temperature,
humidity, and project conditions.
CLEAN UP...Application equipment should be cleaned
promptly after us with Xylene or Toluene.

Coverage
Broomed Surface: 300 ft.²/gal. (7.36m²/L)
Troweled Surface: 500 ft.²/gal. (12.27m²/L)
(Coverage is approximate depending on the porosity of the surface.)
Precautions
TIAH IS FOR EXTERIOR APPLICATION ONLY.
Do not apply TIAH if the temperature of the concrete is
below 40ºF (4ºC). TIAH may also be applied to colored concrete, but mottling
my occur. Do not paint or apply resilient flooring over TIAH without first
checking the specifications and securing the approval of the paint or resilient
flooring manufacturer. Do not use on non-porous surfaces or surfaces which are
not uniform in porosity, i.e. brick, stone, masonry, etc. Do not use TIAH as a
waterproofing sealer on masonry surfaces. The specifier and user shall determine
suitability of product for specific applications and assume all responsibilities
in connection therewith.
NOTE: Current use of increased amounts of various fillers, extenders or
additives in the concrete mix can result in the concrete mass and finished
surface having a higher than normal porosity and some very porous hot-spots.
Coverage ratios must be adjusted to compensate for the resulting penetration and
the additional coats required to provide proper surface treatment. Refer to
Material Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety information.
Health Hazards
Avoid direct contact with this product, as it may cause irritation of the skin
and/or eyes. Inhalation of vapors may result in transient central nervous system
depression. TIAH is combustible (flash point 105ºF).
TIAH should not be utilized in locations where food items are present.
